Gestational Surrogacy

IVF is the process of stimulating and retrieving multiple eggs from a patient’s uterus and fertilizing them with sperm to create embryos.

  • Extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample and manually (ICSI) combine an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish for fertilization and incubation
  • After 5 days the embryo is biopsied (PGS) and cryopreserved
  • It is transferred in the subsequent month’s cycle
  • Patient is under conscious sedation to ensure minimal discomfort.
  • Performed under ultrasound guidance similar to the vaginal ultrasound examination that the patient has during the stimulation cycle.
  • A needle guide is attached to the ultrasound probe, each follicle is perforated and fluid that may contain an egg is aspirated.
  • Once follicles are aspirated, the patient is taken to the recovery area. Some discomfort is expected for a few hours following the procedure.
  • After the patient is fully awake, instructions are given by the recovery nurse and the patient is discharged.

This treatment is the most effective and timely way to achieve pregnancy for many, including patients with:

  • Advanced maternal age
  • Impaired sperm production, function or quality
  • An ovulation disorder, such as PCOS
  • Blockage or damage of the fallopian tubes
  • Endometriosis
  • Uterine fibroids
