Canada is the best jurisdiction in which all families can grow!

Egg donors and gestational surrogates are accessed through collaborating, expert and vetted agencies. Our partnered fertility centers will serve as your guides facilitating the required medical work up including the following:

  • A thorough medical history for candidates
  • A complete medical assessment
  • A social and psychological history
  • Blood group and transmissible diseases screening
  • Genetic screening (for egg donors)
  • They will also organize other, allied service providers to complete all the required processes, conform with the Canadian AHRA*:
  • A session with a certified fertility Counselor
  • Independent legal Advice from an expert, Fertility Lawyer

*All conform to Health Canada regulations as stipulated in the Canadian AHRA (assisted human reproduction act)

Process in 5 easy steps:

  1. We guide you in the selection of a reputable fertility center and collaborating agency.
  2. You review egg donor profiles/ gestational surrogate profiles and select based on your desired traits, characteristics, and overall compatibility. If you have sperm, you will also undergo a full medical assessment including sperm testing, transmissible illness and genetic screening.
  3. The agency will follow with a match sheet to the fertility centre for either or both egg donor and gestational surrogate. Aligned with this, you will receive information regarding your sperm quality, genetic background and your overall fertility potential. This will help your doctor plan your protocol for embryo creation once the donor is selected.
  4. The fertility centre will connect with your egg donor and/ or gestational surrogate to clear her to proceed with the process medically. Once cleared to proceed, embryos are created, tested and prepared for transfer into your gestational surrogate.
  5. Once you have secured your gestational surrogate, she completes her legal screening and will be prepared for embryo transfer. The overall process spans 9 months to a year.

IVF is the process of stimulating and retrieving multiple eggs from a patient’s ovaries and fertilizing them with sperm to create embryos.

The IVF Process

  • Eggs are extracted, a sperm sample is obtained and then both are combined in a laboratory dish for fertilization and growth to the embryo stage
  • After 5 days, each embryo is biopsied (PGTA) and cryopreserved until genetic results are known
  • Embryos are transferred one at a time in the subsequent months’ cycles to result in a pregnancy

Reciprocal IVF is a family building option for couples that includes one partner contributing eggs to form an embryo (created with donor sperm) and the other partner who then receives the created embryo/ carrying the pregnancy.

This assumes that both partners possess eggs and/ or a uterus. While widely adopted as an option for lesbian couples, it is also a viable option for trans men who still have ovaries and their partners, if they have a uterus.

Reciprocal IVF allows both partners in a couple to be intimately involved in the family building process.

What is Egg Freezing?

Egg freezing is the most common way to combat the age-related decline in fertility for individuals with ovaries.

  • Involves the process of removing mature eggs from ovaries and preserving them for future use.
  • Entire process takes approximately 4-6 weeks.
  • Using these eggs in the future provides an alternative option in cases where childbearing is being deferred for reasons of professional, financial, family status or personal preference.

It is important to do this in an experienced, reputable laboratory with innovative technologies so that you are given the best chance at a family should you have recourse to the frozen eggs in the future.

What is involved in a general fertility assessment?

The first step in addressing infertility is understanding its causes. In your fertility assessment, the provider will complete a physical examination and a medical history for the patient. If they have a conceiving partner, that individual may be asked to complete some testing as well. The results of this assessment will help to create a fertility plan in collaboration with the patient.

What is TDI/IUI?

Intrauterine insemination (IUI), also commonly known as “artificial insemination”, is the process of placing sperm into a uterus at the time of ovulation, bypassing the vagina and cervix, in order to achieve a pregnancy.

It is commonly combined with the administration of medications with the purpose of releasing more than one egg at the time of ovulation. This is known as COS (controlled ovarian stimulation) and increases the chances of pregnancy in a cycle.

TDI stands for “therapeutic donor insemination”. This refers to when the insemination involves a sperm donor for the purposes of achieving a pregnancy.  The process for the insemination is the same as for an IUI.
